 Staff & Guides:

All the instructors that we use at PB Mountaineering are all highly experienced and qualified individuals. They all come with a wealth of outdoor experience and are local to the Lake District. All the staff we use are good friends, and we have climbed, trekked, and worked together over the years. Rest assured you’ll be in good hands.
Paul Bradford
Paul is the owner of PB Mountaineering; he has spent over 20 years enjoying the UK Mountains, and holds the Mountain Instructors Award (MIA) which is the highest ‘summer’ outdoor qualification in the UK. Paul also holds the WML award (Winter Mountain Leader award) which enables him to lead groups in the UK mountains in winter conditions. He also holds qualifications in Mountain Biking and Canoeing. Paul is passionate about his work, and can build rapport with people easily. He decided to set up PB Mountaineering in 2005 for his love of the outdoors, and the desire to give people value for money (his Yorkshire blood!) and an outdoor experience that they can remember!

 Phil Brewer
Phil is a qualified teacher, and has a plethora of outdoor qualifications as well as experience. He is the holder of the MIA and the Winter Mountain Leader award, as well as a qualified canoeist and Mountain Biker.
He will keep you entertained whilst out and about, and is never short of a joke or two…Phil also has a passion for alpine adventures and has had numerous trips to the Alps where he has climbed and Ski Toured around the mountains.

Patrick ‘Paddy’ Cave
Patrick ‘Paddy’ holds the MIC (Mountain Instructors Certificate) and also has qualifications in Canoeing, Kayaking, and Mountain Biking. He also runs his own outdoor business-Mountain Circles.
He also has the strongest handshake you’ll ever experience! This is possibly down to his love of all things ‘winter’ which requires a strong grip! Paddy has pioneered many new hard winter routes in the Lake District as well as Scotland.
He has a passion for the outdoors that is hard to match; he has climbed and trekked in the Alps and the Himalayas where himself and a friend made an unsupported ascent of Ama Dablam. The only thing is…just watch out for his handshake!
Jon Peffer
Jon is an experienced mountaineer and has climbed and trekked across the globe. He holds the Mountain Leader, and the SPA climbing award, as well as qualifications in Canoeing and Mountain Biking.
Jon and Paul (PB) have had a long climbing history together, and can often be seen climbing various crags throughout the Lake District and the UK. They have had many Mountaineering tales (epics!) to tell. Jon’s passion for the outdoors shines through when he is out and about, and he can relate to groups easily. He has recently found a new sport – Wakeboarding, which he is picking up pretty fast.
